“Kuro get off me!” I groaned as my brother swung down from the top bunk and landed on my belly. “What’s the magic word then Luna?” He whispered pointing to our mum’s room obviously meaning she was still asleep. “Please?” I said pushing him off. He groaned and nodded as he came and sat at the end of my bed. He ran downstairs and left me with his golden orange cat marmalade. He purred at me as I stroked him carefully. He came back with a plate of toast. “Mm all for me” Kuro said pulling the plate closer to him. “Oh haha. Now hand over a slice!” I demanded. He picked up a slice of toast, took a bite out of it and then shoved it in my mouth. I frowned at him and kicked him. We heard the door creek and stopped still. “Morning guys.” Mumbled our mum as she came into our room. She took a slice of toast and stood at the door. “Get dressed because we are going shopping in an hour.” She said closing the door behind her. “Kuro off my bed so I can get my clothes ready” He nodded and climbed up to his bunk. I climbed halfway up the ladder and gave him marmalade. “You’d like to be on my toast wouldn’t you marmalade?” He asked as he took him off me. He meowed loudly in his face and went to the bottom of the bed. I got out my jeans, my top and my blue hoodie and threw up my brothers jeans and hoodie and his shirt. “Thanks!” He said swinging his head down. In no time at all we were both ready and standing at the door waiting to go. He kicked me with his football boots while we were waiting. “Ow! What was that for!?” I said kicking him harder with my football boots. “Oh it’s on” He said kicking me harder. “Kuro! Luna! Stop it now!” Shouted our mum coming down the stairs to see us in a heap. “Sorry” We both said getting up. “Just leave them be Clare.” Said our dad coming down the stairs. “So are we all ready then?” Kuro and I nodded as we opened the door. I made a dart for the car door and skidded across the grass and fell into the car. “Ohhh you’re in trouble!” Kuro whispered sliding next to me. He slipped too and fell onto the car. I stared at him and put my finger to my lips and we didn’t say anything about hitting the car. We heard the car doors click and jumped into the car. I turned on the mini TV on the back of my seat and played on some of the games. “Luna turn it off please you’ll give yourself a headache.” Said my mum opening her car door. She started the engine and drove off. It was nearly dark by the time we got back.
“Right guys I think we should order food today! My treat!” Said our dad grinning from ear to ear. Kuro and I rushed towards the cupboard and got out the pizza delivery leaflet. “Ham and pineapple please daddy!” Kuro and I said in our sweet voices. It’s the only way we get what we want these days! When we finished dinner my and Kuro went upstairs to go to bed. “Kuro off me now!” I said pushing my brother off me sitting up. “Well sorry if it’s your birthday. Suppose you won’t want your present then!” I stared deeply into my brothers hazel eyes “Ok. Ok. Im coming.” I said getting out of bed. “Happy birthday Luna!” shouted my family from the top of their voices as I came downstairs. “So my little girl is growing up!” Said my dad pretending to cry. I gave him a little shove and went and hugged my mom. “Thanks for singing mom.” I said giggling. “So then Luna open my present first then!” Said Kuro. I leant across the table and got the present. I tore open the wrapping paper to reveal a small box. I looked ad Kuro suspiously as I never trusted him when it came to presents. I opened the little box to find an I.O.U note. I stared at my brother and he was not in his chair when I looked. I looked around me but I couldn’t see him. When he came back into the room he was carrying a box. He placed the box in front of me and I opened it carefully. I looked inside to see 2 big photo frames. I pulled them out one by one and saw that he had made a collage. One of pictures of me and him and another one of me and his friends. I leant over and gave him a massive hug. “James and Alex are coming to get us in a bit Luna so get ready!” I darted upstairs and pulled on my t-shirt and my hoodie and put on some old jeans and some football boots. I heard a ring at the door and ran downstairs.
